Customers go live...
May through to August has piled the pressure on our development and delivery teams with new customers implementing systems and going live on them. Perhaps it’s a good thing the weather hasn't been too good this summer, it helped to keep us all cool!
- Lighting for Gardens is a specialist mail order company based in Letchworth who supply "Quality garden lights and exterior lights at affordable prices", They implemented Khaos Control in May hooking up with their web site developed by eCommerce specialist Rade of Suffolk. We all met each other at the last Catalogue Club meeting in Stratford. You can view their web site at www.lightingforgardens.co.uk
- Russums is a family-run mail order company founded in 1830 and based in Rotherham supplying a wide range of clothing and equipment to professional chefs and the catering industry. Russums have a strong presence is the catering school and college world where they are able to supply economical starter kits to students. A sister company, Virtue Books, supplies cooking and other catering books both directly and through the Russums outlet. In July 2008 both companies went live on Khaos Control in a true multi-channel capacity servicing sales from the web, telephone, mail/fax, email, and their well-equipped on-site showroom. - Canonbury Healthcare is based in Brackley next door to the Honda Formula 1 racing team's factory and just down the road from Silverstone. It took a lot of effort, teamwork and co-operation to finally bring Khaos Control live on-stream in July. Canonbury supply products to the general Podiatry industry (a.k.a. Chiropodists), including surgery equipment and consumables, on a business-to-business basis. Their sister company, Simply Feet deliver a sub-set of the product range to the consumer direct, principally via their eCommerce-enabled web site. - Burns Pet Nutrition, based in Kidwelly, not too far from Swansea, supply specialist, real wet and dry dog and cat foods to both the pet feed industry and direct to the consumer (the owners, not the dogs!). The company was founded 20 years ago by John Burns a practising Veterinary Surgeon from whence he developed homemade recipes he had been recommending to his clients. Burns supply to the trade, both in bags and in palletised bulk, and also direct to the general public through an Actinic developed web site, www.shop.burns-pet-nutrition.co.uk.The company went live on Khaos Control on 1st August this year.
- Future Technology operates from 3 offices throughout the world, HQ is in Glasgow, with subsidiary offices in Taiwan and Oregon, USA. They design, manufacture and distribute electronic hard and soft components to enable legacy peripheral devices to use modern USB technology (bit of a niche!). The bulk manufacturing of wafers and chips takes place in the far east, but to FT's design specifications. They have implemented Khaos Control to take them forward with the phenomenal growth they are experiencing. Most of their orders are mail orders arriving via the web sites or over the phone. FT advertise a lot in specialised electronics projects magazines. The UK live date was 1st August this year. The main database server is based in Glasgow and the coming months will see Taiwan and the US logging on using remote terminal services followed up by redevelopment of the web sites.
