We are delighted to announce that long-standing Khaos Control customer, T. N. Lawrence & Son Ltd., have launched their new eCommerce website for Lawrence Art Supplies.
T. N. Lawrence Son have been part of the Khaos Control family since 2006, initially implementing our ERP software solution, Khaos Control, for use in their shops, back office and warehouse. Martin Lawrence – the latest member of the Lawrence Family to guide the firm since its inception in the late 1850s – is continuing the family theme, with his son and daughter, Adam and Amy, both firmly embedded in the organisation.
The Lawrence Project
The project has been something that both Amy and Adam have driven forward and has enabled Lawrence Art Supplies to build on their reputation as a leading supplier of high quality art supplies. Since we started working with the Hove-based business, they’ve used Khaos Control’s 3rd Party API to integrate with the eCommerce shops. Whilst that gave them the power and efficiency of automating communication between their back office and online store, as customers’ expectations developed they realised that they needed to make a step change in order to build on 150 years of success.
Three key themes emerged for Martin, Amy, Adam and the team:
- Responsive design – ensuring that their customers can shop online with them from any device meant that moving to a responsive website was their #1 priority.
- Security – the Lawrence Art Supplies team knew that there were significant improvements they could to their online store with regards to security. At the same time, this would allow them to move to technology and a design that was more modern and scalable for the business as a whole.
- Omnichannel – T. N. Lawrence & Son sell online, via their catalogue, over the phone / email and in person, via their retail outlet in Hove. Their Hove-based warehouse is used for order fulfilment and also replenishes their shop on a regular basis, via the fastest milk float on the south coast. Ensuring that they provide a consistently great customer experience across all of those touchpoints, without having to spend vast sums of cash and / or hire a team of developers, was crucial with regards to the eCommerce solution they went with.
Deploying a new, secure, Khaos Control-powered eCommerce website has allowed Lawrence Art Supplies to meet all of their key initial objectives. Coupled with the improved user experience the new eCommerce website has delivered, complete integration with Khaos Control means that the T. N. Lawrence team are saving weeks of time a year in admin. With their online store fully integrated into the business for the first time they are positioned to continue the business’ development and are set up for the business to continue thriving well into its Third Century and beyond.
